Product Care

How to Care for Your Coucoucava Shoes

With the right care, your child’s shoes will stay looking beautiful and last longer. Follow the guide below based on your shoe material.

Leather Shoes & Boots

  • Clean: use a leather-suitable cleaner. Always read the product instructions before use to ensure it is appropriate for the material.
  • Dry naturally: allow the shoes to dry completely at room temperature (around 20°C). Do not dry near a radiator, in a drying cabinet, or in direct sunlight — heat and sunlight can dry out, fade, or crack the leather.
  • Condition: apply a small amount of shoe cream or lotion with a cotton cloth using circular motions. This maintains the leather’s elasticity and appearance.
  • Waterproof: always treat new shoes with a waterproofing spray before first use. Reapply if the leather becomes dry or faded.
  • Restore colour: if leather has faded, apply a small amount of shoe dye evenly with a cotton cloth for a consistent finish.

Suede & Nubuck Shoes

  • Remove dirt with a damp cloth.
  • Apply a neutral or colour-enhancing liquid shoe care product.
  • Use a suede brush to lift the fibres and remove marks or flattened areas.

Sandals with Velcro

  • Use a toothbrush to refresh Velcro fastenings — lay the Velcro flat and brush with short, firm strokes to remove dirt and debris. For a deeper clean, wipe gently with warm water to disinfect.
